Phase 2 of the Polytrade RWA Marketplace was just launched. Here’s how you can take the Marketplace for a spin!
TLDR; Discover, trade, and interact with real-world assets from 9+ asset categories, and 2000+ assets.
How Does the Marketplace Work?
The marketplace serves as a comprehensive platform, uniting a diverse array of tokenized assets under one convenient roof.
Within the marketplace, users have the opportunity to explore a vast selection of tokenized assets. They can seamlessly compare different assets and engage in transactions, whether it be purchasing, selling, or simply browsing RWAs.
Assets available on the marketplace are categorized into two main types:
Discovery Assets
These are assets that users can explore, consider, and potentially acquire. They are accessible through Polytrade’s seamless integration with leading protocols such as Uniswap, Balancer, and Opensea or on the Issuing Protocol websites directly.
Some protocols with assets currently in discovery mode are:
Goldfinch, Americana, Unikura, Amber Island, Michelin, Courtyard.io, Dinari, 4K, and others.
Note: A few assets from these protocols are also available to buy directly on the Polytrade Marketplace. Just select the filter ‘Buy Now’ from the left bar and select more filters from your preference.
Secondary Assets
This category encompasses assets native to the Polytrade Marketplace itself. Secondary Assets are listed in Polytrade’s native ERC-6960 standard.
ERC-6960 accommodates various token standards including ERC-20s, ERC-721s, ERC-1155, and more by wrapping them.
Protocols with assets currently in secondary mode are:
Aurus, Tiamonds, Courtyard.io, Blockbar, Raffles from Polytrade, Unikura, and secondary assets listed by other users.
Here are the 4 things you can do on the marketplace right now (each buy or sell transaction also brings you XP on the Polytrade Leaderboard – sign up to the Leaderboard if you haven’t yet)!
1. Buy Available Assets
From the menu, Go to ‘Buy Now’ and click on ‘View All’.
Or search for the asset from the universal search and select the ‘Buy Now’ filter.
Select the network – Ethereum or Polygon.
Open the asset page, and check the parameters of the asset like Asset Valuation (i.e. price of the fraction divided by the fraction percentage or the price of the fraction scaled to 100% of the asset), Fraction Value, and Fraction Available.
You can now choose to accept the price and buy a whole fraction (using “Add to Cart”, or buy a part of the asset (”Buy Fraction”), or make a counteroffer (”Send Offer”) if you wish.
Add to Cart
To buy the full asset at the price it is listed, click on “Add to Cart”. Next, go to your cart to complete the purchase. Here, you will see the total cost including the platform fee.
Approve the transaction from your wallet, and provide permissions.
Once you buy an asset, check ‘My Assets’ to see your asset.
Note: You may not see the asset you purchased in your wallet, as not all wallets show the ERC-6960. You can view the asset on the “My Assets” page.
Buy Fraction
To buy a portion of the asset, click on “Buy Fraction”. Every seller/issuer sets a minimum fraction while listing the asset. You can buy the minimum by clicking on “Min” or buy the max by clicking on “Max”. The popup will show you a summary of your purchase before adding it to your cart.
While using the “Buy Fraction” feature, you accept the price set by the seller (to negotiate on price see the next section on “Send Offer”.
Send Offer
If you want to negotiate the price of the asset, click on “Send Offer”. The below dialogue box will show. Here, you can offer an amount for the particular fraction you send the offer for. For example, below $1 is being offered for a 100% fraction that is listed at $50 (or a -98% price difference). The pop-up also shows the platform fee that will be applicable in case the seller chooses to accept your offer and the amount of time till when the offer will be valid.
Once you make an offer, the system will take permission to spend the offered amount. In case the seller accepts your offer, the transfer of the asset and the offered amount will happen automatically (unless you do not maintain the offered amount in your wallet).
Therefore, always look to maintain the offered amount in your wallet at all times.
2. Sell/List an Asset
You can sell and/or list an asset on the marketplace. The asset is wrapped in ERC-6960. The token (ERC-721, ERC-1155, etc) is wrapped in the “Underlying Token” with respect to the ERC-6960. You can trade an asset inside of the marketplace using the ERC-6960.
- To list or sell an asset you need to wrap the asset from ‘Available to Wrap’ under my ‘My Assets’ section.
2. Proceed to wrap the asset into ERC-6960.
3. After wrapping the asset, for listing you will find a ‘List’ option on the asset’s own listing page or “My Assets”.
4. To complete your listing, declare the following:
- Percentage of the asset to be listed (fraction percentage)
- Price of the listed asset (price of the fraction you are listing)
- Payment token of choice (currently supported: USDC.e)
- Min. Fraction buyer can buy (set the minimum ticket in USD that the buyer can buy)
The popup will show the summary of the terms of your listing.
Once listed, your listing/sale offer will show up on the Asset Listing page. Anyone is now able to buy the asset/fraction on your terms (via “Add to Cart”) or send you a counteroffer/bid.
Counter-offers that are made to you show up on the “My Assets” page.
At any time, you can choose to accept a live offer. Accepting the offer will consummate the transaction, which means the asset/fraction transfer and the offer amount will happen (unless the buyer/one who made the offer does not have the offered amount in their wallet).
3. Redeem an Asset
ERC-6960
In order to claim the Underlying Wrapped Token or NFT from the ERC-6960, you must follow the steps as outlined in the “Claiming Process” section of the Asset Listings such as below.
For most ERC-6960 the flow follows the below steps:
- First, make sure you own 100% of the ERC-6960. You must own 100% to be able to redeem the underlying asset.
- The ERC-6960 asset on Polytrade Marketplace will show up on your “My Assets” page under the “Available on Marketplace” section
- From the “My Assets” page, you must first unwrap the 6960 into the underlying ERC-721 or ERC-1155. There will be a “Claim” button to do so under the “Actions” column in the same Table
- Once unwrapped, you will get the ERC-721 or ERC-1155 in your wallet. You should now be able to see the same in your account in Opensea or in your wallet
- Now that you have the underlying asset in your wallet, you can head onto the Issuing protocol to use the token / claim any associated benefits*
Others: Non-ERC-6960
Non-ERC-6960 Tokens available (primarily ERC-20s) on the Polytrade Marketplace do not need to be unwrapped and should already be viewable inside your wallet (MetaMask). In case they are not visible, simply click on the add to wallet button next to the Contract Address on the asset listing page.
Since you own the token, you can now head onto the Issuing protocol’s website or dApp to use the token / claim any associated benefits*
*You must be aware that they may need to comply with the terms of conditions of the Underlying Token Issuer to access the Underlying Token and related benefits. You are encouraged to check the conditions for redemption of the Underlying Token, including identity verification, geographic limits, or other parameters. If you intend to hold the Underlying Token, please first ensure you are aware of the terms and conditions of the Issuing Protocol.
